Over the last few months, I've traveled throughout the 2nd State
Senate district to meet with community leaders and talk about the
issues we are facing in California. It has been an amazing
opportunity to revisit my own past and look toward our collective
future. While I grew up in Alameda County, I spent most of
my summers working at my grandparents' general store on Highway 101
in Laytonville and our family vacations hiking, fishing and swimming
in the state parks throughout Mendocino and Humboldt Counties.
I spent last weekend in Humboldt County, visiting Eureka, Arcata and Ferndale
to
meet with leaders and advocates in the community. I attended the
League of Women Voters' State of the Community luncheon, toured the bay with
the Humboldt Baykeeper, and met with leaders from the First 5 Commission to discuss
their innovative approach to early childhood development. Despite the tough
economy, I've seen firsthand how community leaders throughout the North Coast
are using creative ways to do more with less - whether it's stretching education
funding, protecting our coastline with limited resources, or pushing to increase
civic participation. I look forward to the opportunity to work with these
leaders in the State Senate to make California work for us again.
To get there, I need your help. Ballots will be mailed in just 10 days
and there is more work to be done. Please visit my website today at www.noreenevans.com to
make a contribution to our efforts. Your donation will help us spread our
message throughout the district and will fund our direct mail program. You
can also read more about my background and vision for the State Senate, sign

campaign.
Thank you for your continued help and support.
Sincerely,
Noreen Evans
