Election Roundup: Evans bags endorsements

California Assemblywoman Noreen Evans recently announced that she has received a number of endorsements in the race to become the next 2nd District state senator.

The California Teachers Association, Service Employees International Union, Santa Rosa Firefighters Local 1401 and Stationary Engineers Local 39 have all endorsed Evans in recent days. Evans has also recently received the endorsements of Congressman George Miller, the California League of Conservation Voters, Humboldt County Central Democratic Committee and the Latino PAC of Sonoma County.

Evans is currently serving her third term representing the state's 7th Assembly District and is running to succeed Sen. Patricia Wiggins, who is not seeking re-election. Evans was also recently appointed Majority Whip of the state assembly.
